I disagree with all the (upcoming) comments and pick Dirrell. I don't think Ward has much chance on the inside where Calzaghe loads up on his faster hands and throws controlled crazyness from all angles, plus I see his jab controlling the fight from the outside. Dirrell's speed, power and mobility however could give Joe fits, possibly some wobbly moments and some nice powerful counters to a competitive decision loss.

To beat a prime Joe, you would have to hurt him with power shots alot and most likely knock him out. His style of always coming foward, throwing 80 puches in a round with that speed, well as his record shows, it basically impossible to beat him on points.

Though it would make for a bad fight I also think Dirrell might be the one to cause him the most trouble with his speed and movement.

I just cant see a man who fought a very close fight with Carl Froch beating Joe Calzaghe on points, which is the way he would have to do it.

Andre Ward beats on him all day every day
Andre Dirrell stick and move, outboxes him and makes him miss.

Arthur Abraham would be a good fight from a style perspective, i see calzaghe's unattractive flurries/slaps scoring early and Abraham wobbling him at some point. Plus Calzaghe has a tendency to trade and I see Abraham with the upper hand with power.

I see Calzaghe hiding in Wales with his coke and tranny hookers.

I think ward and dirrell would both be pretty easy for Calzaghe but i have a gut feeling Bute would be a major problem

Dirrell would be easy for Joe, no question. Ward and Bute would do well against him, whether either could hurt hm enough to win is another question.

I see Calzaghe easily defeating Froch, Kessler (again), and Bute. Abraham and Dirrell would be tougher fights for him for different reasons but I still see Calzaghe swamping them with activity. Andre Ward, however, has all the match-ups it would take in my opinion.

Bute. Probably the obvious choice, but he's the one who hits the body best and has therefore the best chance of slowing Calzaghe down and halting his work-rate. Ideally the best way of lowering his work-rate is to be Bernard Hopkins-like and keep a tight stance with no obvious line of attack and counter him early to make him think twice about coming in.

Since nobody at SMW currently has the style to do that, I think Bute has the best chance as I said, being that he might be the one to slow Calzaghe's attack with body shots and big left hands and also reach. Noboby that is currently active at SMW would beat him though.

Ward would only beat him if it was in oakland where he would be allowed to use his head and fight dirty.

Go look at the greene fight ward is allowed to have the top of his head planted on greenes chin it's ridiculous.
