Well they both got a $25mil guarantee and I hear 1.1mil buys in the US market was the break even. No way that a loss was made here but I don’t think they will be getting anything on top of that
Well considering the fight generated 70,000,000 million Ppv and then 35 million as left to pay the boxers and rest of overhead. Plus 18 million gate that leaves them with 53 million total. So I’m guessing nothing, only the guarantee and somebody is losing money!
It says on Wikipedia that for the second fight 'Fury and Wilder had base purses of $5 million, though both had more than $25 million in guaranteed earnings, plus percentages of pay-per-view profits' Sorry if this is a stupid question but what's the difference between a base purse and guaranteed earnings? Where does the additional money come from? Also, does anyone know what percentage cut Wilder and Fury were due to get from any PPV profits?
$25-30 million each, not bad, the highest paycheck both fighters have received. But all that matters is how much they actually pocket after deducting tax, promoter, manager, trainer, cut an expenses, training camp expenses, hanger ons
I’m sure every boxer who starts earning the big purses has a Ltd Company set up in some sort of umbrella structure, and pay from fight is structured to minimise tax - still will have a decent amount to pay but far less than through your typical tax laws
Bob Arum said the ppv buys in the UK were 800,000. And the US ppv totals aren't finalized yet because of all the different platforms offering it. They did fine.
Why does anyone care about this. Its not going in your pocket is it. I couldn't give a **** how many tickets were sold or who gets what cut. Let's just see the fights ffs.
