Hello people, I am gonna be soon joining the army and enter the boxing gym and i wanna know what's the best boxing defense 2 start out with. 2 be more accurate on my options, i am 5'9 3/4 & 168 pounds and i am a very big 168 in the arms and big fists and i have very good reflexes from lifting weights and playing football:tong so let me know which would fit me best. In my opinion i wanna be unpredictable and be able 2 vary my defenses, so i was thinkin of switching between a Crab (Hitman A.K.A Philly Shell) defense and a peek-a-boo defense. so please by all means let me know.bbb
do the winky wright defense. since ur just starting dont even think of trying out the mayweather deffense cuz thats suicide. winky wright 1 never fails
+1 But don't be so static. Best defense would be moving your legs. Try to copy good fighter's footwork but not the hand defense. Do couple of rounds of plain footwork before or after the training. Good luck
Look, you say you want a good style and something that’s going to keep the other guy guessing then go with a Philly shell style but put you own spin on it. keep mobile and try to keep that jab in the other guys face keeping on the outside of the other guy lead foot so that you could create more angles for your self and make him keep resetting. Good luck!
Don't listen to that clown. Don't you dare use a philly shell before you've learnt even a basic high guard. Chances are you'll get clowned, you'll look awfully stupid, and get knocked the **** out to put the icing on the cake.
I couldnt agree more TFFP.....trying to use a philly shell when just starting out is a recipe for recieving a beatdown:yep A philly shell defense is something experts develop over time, hence its rarity
There is a couple gyms here now, and I see some some stupid ass mutha****ers trying that. Not only do they look dumb as **** trying to imitate their heros, but they get owned. A normal guard is far more reliable for the average guy in my opinion, there isn't so much to go wrong and its not as reliant on reactions. Just keep the elbows tucked in.
