Lets all give thanks that you're not involved professionally. Nobody would ever sanction a fight with a rehydration clause. Just think about it for a moment as to why. :patsch

He Could push to have it outside of Las Vegas. Canelo, is the one that sells tickets. He's like a rock star in Mexico. Having the fight in Texas or LA especially would be huge. They can sell 80,000 tickets. I have never seen a fight in America sell like Canelo's last fight. It was like a football game.

Nah, 10 pd rehydration clause is the perfect solution. Don't see the need for Canelo to have to hydrate more then that. And I'm looking for the fight to be at 154 so he would weigh 164 on fight night.

I think they would, but within reason. Like, not less than 10lbs. Remember Cotto asked Marg for a 150 CW with 160 rehydration clause. Marg rejected it, but I doubt Cotto would make a request that's not sanctionable.

The only reason I agree with that is the old timers in the gym will tell ya that through out the course of a 12 rounder if its high paced a fighter losses about 1 pound per round on average water weight of course.
10 pounds 12 max is okay with me....

there are no demands.. his fans claim that Canelo is being demanding but they are just doing it to cover their idol.. when will floyd fans realize that Floyd Mayweather is scared to lose. He wants to retire undefearted..

He has said before that his health is more important.. self preservation.. so expect him to duck CANELO ALVAREZ..

Funniest thing about this fight is that people know Canelo will have a giant weight advantage, but that is the only reason why they want the fight to happen at 154. he doesn't have the skill to beat Floyd, but the size can really make up against a 36 year old fighter...Same people who probably wanted Floyd to fight Pac regardless if he was roided up or not. They love to say he has a belt at 154, but they know he has looked his worse at 154. Then if canelo wins, they can fill these forums up with "Hahaha told you Floyd was overrated"...this has hypocrisy all over it...one breath they will say Floyd beat an old washed up Oscar who was 34; but want a 36 year old Floyd to fight as if he is 30 still...

If Floyd is as great as he and his die hard fans claim he is, then the weight shouldn't be a problem.

"Floyd will school that Ginger!" but at the same time "Wah!! He too big!"

    :rofl:rofl:rofl

So many tears. So what's your opinion, is Floyd a paper champ in his 5th division? Marquez is aiming higher, he's not afraid to fight top guys in his 5th division, at 39. But I guess Floyd's style works better vs small guys, or at least he must think so

Apparently fighting in your own weightclass is a crazy demand.

    "Easy work"

:| "Canelo is a Light Heavy Weight"

    "will school him with ease"

"by the 6th rounds canelo will be 0-6"

:|" Mayweather shouldn't be expected to get in with a monster who will outweight him by 30 pounds"

    " He to big"

"Mayweather is a featherweight, why should he fight a LHW"

"Mayweather only fights Light weights, not light heavy weights"

Ask Pimp-C he's the one running his mouth here and saying Canelo is in no position to demand.

No, if it's such an issue, a catchweight should be considered. According to Reynose, Floyd has turned down that proposal.

As for the rehydration clause, I would honestly be amazed if that was sanctioned. Nobody knows how much they are going to rehydrate by. They can have a good idea, but they can't be certain.

Lets say that a rehydration clause is set. When would the rehydration weigh in be?

What if a fighter rehydrated healthily by taking on liquids and food as normal, but found out he was over the limit?

    What then?

Would he then have to try and dehydrate himself to make the weigh in just before the fight?

    It's ridiculous!

We don't know if Canelo's heavier weight against Trout was natural, or planned.

The fighters would be continuously weighing themselves after the initial weigh in.

It wouldn't be good preperation for the fight, and if things didn't go to plan, they could be disastrous consequences.

You wouldn't want a fighter going into the ring unhealthy, because he's had to dehydrate just before the fight. That's why they abolished the same day weigh ins.

I can't see it ever happening.

    See post 164.

It would be too dangerous. If he could only rehydrate by a certain amount, he may not be able to take in all the fluids and food that he'd need to be healthy. It would be impossible to control your rehydration weight to the pound, safely.

For all we know, Canelo might have had the exact same prep for Trout, as what he did for Lopez.

If an agreed weight was put in a place, but he found out he'd gone over it, he'd be in a rush to try and lose it again before the official rehydration weigh in.

    It could have disastrous consequences.

You simply can't cap someone's natural rehydration process.

It would be playing with fire.
