people seem to forget the one reason cotto's jabs with more authority is the same reason oscar dropped people with his left hook they are lefties that box orthodox so thier lead hand is strong hand

I thought cotto is a converted southpaw, so that jab is like a ram rod. Floyd has more variety but cotto's jab is like a power punch, heavy and thudding.

I don't see anything that Shane does that's gonna trouble Floyd. Stylistically tough fight for Shane, but I hope I'm wrong.

Get Floyd's **** out of your mouth. Ive watched the Cotto fight and the Margarito fight enough to play it out in my damn mind. Mosley was winded, flat footed and throwing only right hands one at a time vs Cotto so yeah compare that to Mosley looking fresh, combo throwing, angles and more footwork vs Margarito. Cotto fought a great fight vs Mosley but it would have been even tougher with a strategist like Richardson in Mosley's corner. **** go watch Hopkins vs Wright/Calzaghe then Pavlik the fight where Richardson led his corner and camp. Freddie Roach is a great trainer but Hopkins was slower and almost sluggish in those fights and even looked like he was tired at times. Richardson is helping these guys find alittle extra energy this guy is a world class trainer. Trainers handle alot of what goes on in the fight and preparing for it sometimes you need the guy who can motivate you differently or train your differently or a guy who you have better chemistry with.

Cotto's jab has more on it. Mayweather has a fast snap-jab, but its not a controlling, thudding jab like the fighters who have beaten Mosely possessed. Mosely could walk through some jabs to last his fast power punches, but he couldn't walk through thudding jabs that keep him off balance. Mayweather may have a 'better' jab than Cotto, maybe, but its not the type of jab that beats Shane.

Floyd is better in cotto in every department except power. Only that floyd doesnt depend on power to win so even that does not matter. Floyd will beat Mosley easily at this stage... but there are still a lot of people backing mosley that will be surprised. Pac will be a much tougher challenge but I believe floyd can beat him as well.

Make Shane a bit reluctant to throw...thats about it. Cotto hits harder than Floyd.

Cotto definitely has a better more forceful jab. He also has underrated timing, and a stronger punch.

He's also willing to take more risks and force the other fighter to give him more respect. Floyd will have to earn his.

You know I watched Hatton/Mayweather recently, and I was surprised at how many left hooks he threw that missed by...miles. And Ricky isn't the most difficult fighter to time. He landed a lot as well, so when we're watching we tend to focus on them, but just watch it and look at how many he missed when Hatton is wide open to be hit with a left hook.

 Hatton actually was moving his head and upper body for the begining of the fight. But Floyd was landing his right hands at will. His leaping left is not always on point as the ODH fight. To me, those were his least accurate performances. But he still dont go under 40% which is a good night for some fighters. Floyd falls in love with that hook at times which is one of his few flaws. What is more surprising is that he stood his ground with both of these fighters in there punching range most of the time and made them land sub 20% of their shots.. So I guess he made up for it.
