He showed us that he is a very versatile fighter and has the ability to adapt inside the ring and make adjustments. He is much more of a complete fighter then I thought. Also, his boxing skills and speed were vastly underrated. He showed alot of good things in his fight with Shane. His gameplan was, as it always is though, and thats to come forward, bang the body, wear his opponent down physically and mentally. I doubt going into this fight that he "planned" on changing gameplans late and backpeddle countering. This shows me that Mosley actually broke and wore him down...forced him to change. Has Cottos strength and relentlessness been exposed a little? Shane is a strong, tough Welter....but not the strongest. Could other Welterweights or Jr Middles do this to Cotto as well? What do ya'll think :think
He showed us that he has great training, great caoaching, he showed us that they study SSM closely and understood what needed to be doen and he was willing and able to do it....his jab was good before, but know, is a great jab, solid strong and one that causes damage in similar fashion to a Vernoin or Winky, which both were bigger than SSM when they dominated SSM, Cotto was not, they were the same size which make Cotto special...his boxing skills and above all his speed, he can use it if he choose it to....SSM clearly was surprized by Cotto speed...
He showed me his jab is one of the best. Before Saturday, I would've told you he has good jab but not a great one. Now, I'm thinkin' it's one of the best out there. It looked like a mini-Sonny Liston jab; almost a powepunch, with the ability to really push his opponent backward.
Really? I disagree whole-heartedly! I think the positive things Cotto showed last saturday are exactly what he needs to destroy PBF :good
are you serious??? Look Cotto looked damn good.....i like him but man he ate and eats soooo many punhces it is not funny......had Mosley kept nailing him witht he uppercuts the fight possibly is a TKO or he wins the cards for some reason he didnt and he also stop throwing his right hook to Cotto's noggin and some of that was the jab which was a thing of beauty that night but anyone who eats punches like and then steps in the ring with someone in their prime who still has the reflexes to dodge his shots and couter faster and beat him to the punch.....uh uh....Cotto improved but if his defense dont step up....he will get outpointed easily because to be honest he didnt have to exactly chase Mosley and move like he will have to with Floyd. Still would be a great fight to see.
He shoeed me that he is more tha just a pressure fighter, and he has decent boxing ability, I give him all the props in the world
He really didn't show anything new in the ring, I already knew Cotto had some versatility and expected him to win (by a wider margin). I guess he showed he can beat a true elite of a division (I don't count Judah).
