But do you really want to see Haye win? Could we actually stand to hear him brag and brag and brag for an eternity about his win over Valuev while he picks tomato can after tomato can to defend against? Honestly, if he wins, who would his first defense be against? Oh yeah, a rematch with Barrett.
Well, it might have something to do with all the **** he talked, and then all the fights he pulled out of. That doesn't exactly endear you to boxing fans.:hey
The ridiculous thing about Haye at HW is that his highest ranked opponent was Bonin (guy almost never mentioned) who was fighting him almost 3 years ago. Since then Haye beat one journeyman (in Haye's own words) and dumped fights with Toney, Rahman, and both Klitchkos.
His first defense will be Ruiz, I have almost no doubt about that. No, my preference would be for Valuev to win. But, I think WK or VK (likely VK given their schedules) would put forth a legit offer to try to unify the belts and Haye would be forced to man up or turn it down (i.e. make up excuses). He'll be insuferable, but continue to be mocked for his resume - and still a more legit champ to me than Valuev.
Pretty much. Didn't even have the brains to be subtle about it as well. What a sad twat. It takes a certain type of person to hate and there is more than enough of it on this forum. I think a lot of the hate is also really jealousy. Hayes intelligent, good looking, rich, supremely talented, has had more ***** than these morons have jacked off and is the future heavyweight champion of the world. What's not to be jealous of if you're the type of person who generally fails.
he's an over arrogant ******* with a mouth the size of Clotteys head and i'm one of his biggest fans....
I personally couldnt give a **** if boxers are gentlemen or not. They knock lumps out of people for a living
same here, in fact i prefer it that way which is why i'm fan, come fight night he never fails to entertain and thats all that matters
Because he talks all this **** and then backs out of 2 fights and the guy has been inactive for a year and still kept talking like he is THE Heavyweight champ. Not to mention he has no Chin and no heart.
no heart? really? based off of what? him going to the lions den to fight Mormeck in his hometown? or him getting off the canvas to knock him out? like seriously, if you dont like the guy thats one thing but don't say he aint got heart and i dont think he has much of a chin but to say he has NO chin is a big exaggeration when he's fought plenty of punchers and world class opposition and has never been knocked out
I was a fan, and could be again, but as a Brit I am embarrassed by his outbursts. Talking about Valuev's body odour etc. is pretty irrelevant stuff, and should hardly be necessary to sell the fight. As others have said on here, Haye-Valuev as a fight could go a long way towards showing us where the immediate future of the HW division might be, particularly with Vitali K's retirement likely not being too far off. A win for either Valuev or Haye would go some way towards legitimising their claims to be the future, 'though whoever wins would need to start fighting a few more challenging opponents. Haye shouldn't have talked so big if he was going to pull out of both Klitschko fights. With the second fight, he was not even honest about his reasons; he claimed that he was unhappy with the contract when actually the contract was very similar to the one he signed for the first Klitschko fight. What he was unhappy about was that Setanta went bust taking with them a large element of his payday. He should have seen that the payday comes from winning and setting up future big fights, but he's trying to make his fortune off his first title shot, which also smacks of a lack of confidence in his ability to beat a Klitschko. Sorry for rambling, hope you get the drift!
And just look at how much reaction his trash talking has produced. I'd say he has been effective in drumming up interest, which is what he wanted to do. :deal
