I think that Helenius thought he was safe to attack Wilder when he was in the corner as traditionally Wilder sparks guys at range with a long right hand. I credit Wilder's new training where he has learned to execute a short right hand counter fighting off the back foot it was the exact same punch he caught Fury with in the 4th round of their last fight.

The difference is probably that Fury has better defence than every SHW, even when he's being sloppy. He has fast reflexes and head/body movement for someone that big. He looked basically as fast as Wilder in that first fight, which is quite amazing.
So he's hard to hit clean when he's concentrating, almost everyone who spars or fights him says this.
It's probably just a matter of cms. Fury gets out the way a little faster than Helenius.
In that first fight with Wilder, Wilder was quick and Fury was dodging bullets in there at times, it was pretty special defence.
So people hating on Davison in this context, those ridiculous noodle drills probably paid off.

But the fact Fury still got caught ... it tells me that everyone is getting caught by Wilder if he's in there long enough. Wilder has fast hands for someone his size, he's shown it time and again. And he already showed the short counters versus the Pole and Ortiz, so people saying he can't do anything inside or that AJ would just have his way there, not sure what they've been watching.

This. Besides size Helenius lacks Fury’s talent, durability, and adaptability. When Helenius started following Wilder around while still giving Wilder plenty of punching room I knew it was only a matter of time before he walked into something.

It is very simple, he had his chin straight up. Watch the Wilder/Fury fights and notice Fury has his chinned tucked.
