    Heart,chin,stamina.

I just rewatched holyfield vs lewis 1 and saw a bigger, stronger, faster more skillful lewis take holyfield apart in one of the biggest robberies in history. Lewis was better on the inside on the outside, he was quicker and smarter, he picked him apart. Past prime holyfield maybe. Lewis was a complete fighter, the best hw ever. :happy

lewis landed at 57% he threw 613 landed 348.
holyfield threw 385 and landed 130.

thats amazing accuracy from lennox lewis.

Evander threw better combinations, Lewis rarely through many punches at a time.

Evander was better at everything, the only equaliser was the massive size difference.

Holyfield was good at most things in boxing, but excellent at none of them. Lewis was excellent at some things.

Evander was 37 when they fought .. that being said, Lewis may have deserved both decisions but he really did not seriously hurt or dominate Evander , he outboxed him with size and strength .. Evander, with his chin, speed and combination punching is one of the few guys that matches up well w Lennox prime for prime ..

Holyfield couldn't compete with Lewis for power or jab.

And size is the reason why he was lacking in those departments.

Lewis was a bigger and more powerful.

Holyfield was better in skills, speed, agility, variety of punches, etc.
    Better one-punch resistance too.

Why he was better is irrelevant, what is relevant is he was better.

He wasn't the better fighter IMO, prime for prime Holyfield beats him.

It's a point of view, you could say had they been of comparable size Holyfield would have won but they weren't and he didn't. The thread isn't about who was the better fighter it's about what did Holyfield do better than Lewis?
A few things imo, but not everything.

Holyfield was one of the best counter punchers in history. Tyson has even said on record that Holyfield was the best counter puncher he ever came across.

What did holyfield do better than Moore's or Ruiz or Byrd or Toney or Valuev? Maybe he was just not at his best in those fights.

He was better at not getting knocked out. Holyfield was stopped in the 8th round by Bowe (their 3rd fight) when he was 33 years old. He had lost a close decision to Bowe in their first fight and won a close decision vs. Bowe in their 2nd fight. He was stopped in the 9th round by Toney when he was 137 years old.

Lewis was dropped and stopped by McCall LKOby2 and Rahman. He avenged both of these losses.
