What did Jones JR do to be considered a demigod?

Probably the best fighter of all time in three weight classes, including the marquee middleweight division. So good that the second best fighter in the history of the division would probably get blown out in a walk. Do you need more?

 

His skills in the ring is what put him up so high,but I shouldn't have to be telling you this..

Now that we are removed from all the Roy Jones hate we can finally appreciate how sweet he was.

Some of the most amazing reflexes I've ever seen in an athlete in any sport. He was able to use his reaction and timing offensive to defensive, and defensive to offensive with fluidity.

 

You've been given a few highlight reels in this thread, just soak those in.. Then go watch the full fights, you'll also be a believer.

 

Are you like 10 years old? I can not believe you dont know Roy Jones, every true fan watched 90% of his fights, and every true fan of boxing knows why RJJ is ATG fighter.

Roy Jones was great, but he had too many in the ring antics for my taste. I like some cockiness in fighters but his was past entertainment and deep into annoyance.

 

I agree with OP. Plenty of fighters have won Silver medals in the Olympics when he should really have won Gold. Plenty of fighters started at 154 have won titles at 160, 175 and HW. Why is RJJ so different from these fighters?

Also, just playing devils advocate here... save for Virgil Hill in the highlight, who has Roy fought and dominated of note, other than a not yet mature Hopkins and Toney?
