you obviously don't come from the uk, race has nothing to do with it. when it comes to sporting figures, especially boxers, the colour of your skin is irrelevant. he was a bigger star in the uk at 18-19 years of age than any other, past or present that i can think of and that wasn't down to what he had done in the ring a a pro boxer. that wouldn't happen if the UK was by and large recist. as far as moving to LA, are you saying the US is less racist as a whole than the UK? the same US that only started letting black people travel with whites on buses etc in the 60's, the same country that has the klu klux klan and white supremicists? there's racist's everywhere which includes the black and asian population? would he have the fame and recognition he has now, if he had moved to the US when he was younger? no
it's no more racist than any other country, the uk is one of the least racist country's in europe. compare us to the french, spanish, east europeans etc. there's not a country in the world that doesn't have a racisist element, that's not how you define a racist country.
:thumbsup A superb post that imo sums up any "Hate" towards Khan!! I went to watch my pal fight on a Khan undercard, my pal, a pro, won his fight. When I met my pal after the fight and when I asked if he was staying to watch Khan, he said "**** that wanker!" I was shocked and asked if he was as bad as some would have us believe and my pal replied "Nah mate, he's worse!"
based on what? how could his suppoort be any greater than it is already considering he's a household name, multi millionaire, has been doing ppv fights recently and he has only just won a belt of the weakest holder in the division. i'm not knocking him he's doing well and will go on to be a very good fighter and possibly multi weight champ, but as it stands now, he has more popularity and support than he probably deserves.
That logic is flawed. None of those things necessarily equate to someone being supported. Another ridiculous analogy..Jedward was a household name, probably soon to be millionaires, doesn't mean they were supported! A lot of people I know like to watch his fights, not because they like him. But because they are hoping this time that he gets KO'd
I think hes doing a great job and is a very entertaining fighter, so what if he has a dodgy chin, ill be watching his fights in the coming years, time will tell how good he can be, with that chin it will be hard for him at top level though imo
