Canelo out classed Liam. Canelo is an A fighter and Liam is a B- fighter and Canelo should us that...
Levels init. Liam showed he's tough which we assumed anyway but just simply not a good enough fighter. He'll probably score a decent win at some point but his limitations were clear. European level operator
Smith says he would be up for a Brook fight. A risky fight to come back to as it would be another defeat. Gallagher saying he thinks Smith will just fight in the US now.
He cannot be called world class until he beats a world class fighter and he hasn't done that.So he is Euro level until he proves different!
Canelo has beaten world class opponents Smith hasn't. He cannot be called world class until he beats a world class fighter and he hasn't done that.So he is Euro level until he proves different!
It was a typical joe gallagher trained fighter. Hands up -chin down - walk forward. Zero head movement. All guts and little skill. A bit worrying for Canelo that Liam - fighting on heart alone - had as much success as he did. Imagine if GGG found Canelo as frequently as Smith did? Not very reassuring. I think Canelo comes in TOO heavy for hi s own good, and his mobility suffers as a result. a lighter, more mobile
I mean no disrespect but i dont understand, there was a clear gulf in skill, smith lost pretty much every round and was put down 3 times. How does this tell you he belongs in there? It's such a british mentality that our fighters fight the best, lose almost every minute of every round but show toughness... and then they belong in there. Can anyone really see liam having the ability to win rounds against charlos, andrade, williams, lara, cotto...it aint happening. He may win a title again but it depends who champion. His style is just a basic british style, does well at british level but at world level the guys love it, they just break it down round after round...it's an easy style to face
I'm not a fan of fighters that hold a guard in such a way as liam does, i just think it's awful... he's not world level, that is and has been easy to see all along, I'm afraid...
I'll have to watch the fight again because I couldn't see the competitiveness that a lot of people seem to have seen. I thought smith looked out of his depth/Canelo looked in control from start to finish
His not beaten one world class fighter period Canelo has so he definitely has proved his not world class.
He had no success his shots did not affect Canelo. I don't think Canelo is too heavy I think he has **** footwork he always has and probably always well, he makes up for that with his body movement. You have to remember Canelo thought a different fight against smith than he would against GGG same as GGG with Brook
