What did Margarito gain, if anything, on November 13?

Considering he had an overall better showing against Manny than:

    De la Hoya
    Clottey
    Cotto
    Hatton

    Its safe to say respect...

I respect what Margo did, in not quitting. That was pure old school (while not too smart) ****.

I still think his biggest wins will forever be shrowded in controversy. As they should be.

Just because he took a horrible beating (that for the record after the 6th or 7th I no longer enjoyed seeing) doesn't mean he's this born again non-controversial figure in our sport.

A payday that 99% of pro fighters can only dream of.

I don't know why anyone ever questioned his toughness in the ring in the first place. I also didn't quite understand why people going into this fight had thought Margarito's punch resistance had gone away just because Mosley had stopped him after hitting him with a gazillion flush right hands and body shots that he put his whole body into.

margarito won even more fans due to his heart and valor, this reminds me of when fernando vargas twent out on his shield against felix trinidad. i have seen guys take beatings like margarito did on the streets for free.

Another big fight in the future on, say, HBO, if not PPV.

Margarito regained my respect with his performance, he just doesn't quit the guys got one hell of a heart and IMO looked better than a lot of the opponents PAC has faced over the last few years.

How the **** are people bashing him? If he wasn't good enough, fine, give credit to Pacquiao. But to bash a guy who put all his heart out after getting a broken orbital bone in the 4th round is disrespectful to boxing! So many fighters would have packed it in but Margarito kept trying to win!! We could have gotten 5th round TKO by stoppage but Margarito gave everyone their moneys worth. Margartio is nothing but a warrior and deserves your resespect!

Pacquiao looked really good this fight because Margarito brought it out of him.

Alfonso Gomez. ? What wrong with Gomez. He retired both Castillo and Gatti. That's not too bad.
