Jess Willard didn't die until the late 1960s. Does anyone know what he thought of the heavyweights of later generations? Did he ever speak of Marciano, Joe Louis or Ali?

Probably too busy being bitter and paranoid over his asskicking from Dempsey.

This is a curious thought. I never heard or read what he thought of the ATG of the later generation.

He told anybody who wold listen that Dempsey was a bum and that he cheated in their title fight despite the fact that Dempsey was his employer.

Not the sharpest knife in the drawer, Big Jess.
Jeffries was asked his opinion of Burns and Hart, his reply?" nuttin ".
    Well, its succint anyway.
And to those who try to say that it wasnt hot when Johnson fought Willard in Havana, this is a quote from Willard about whether Johnson laid down or not.[Personally I think he was genuinely beaten].

"It was hotter than hell in there if Johnson was gonna lay down,I wish he'd done it it a hell of a lot sooner."
