5 foot 7 inch and 38 year old Duran fights and goes to war and kicks 6 foot 1 Iran Barkleys ass who was a huge middleweight coming off a KO of Hearns

5 foot 8 inch 36 year old mayweather is talking rehydration and "hes too big" excuse bull**** in an attempt to avoid a 5 foot 7 inch guy in his own weight division

    Duran - Legend
Floyd - Cherry Picker and excuse maker

WTF? Leonard was 24 and he had Benitez on his resume already lol. Maybe he wasn't in his full blown prime but he was getting there in a PRIME weight class. Maybe not a prime boxer overall but he was in his prime division. With Benitez already on his resume (HOF experience) and fighting the smaller man, with several physical advantages, you can't use that as an excuse. Like someone else said here, it was one of the greatest wins in HISTORY!

I would rank that as his second best. Montreal was his best, IMO.

Buchanan, DeJesus, DeJesus, Palamino, Leonard, Moore, Barkley, Castro

    135 -168

    1972 -1997

Twenty five years between the first and last of those wins.

That's longer than Mike Tyson's entire life when his prime ended.

Duran wiped out a very deep lightweight division talentwise. He moved up to welterweight and beat one of the greatest welterweights in history, Sugar Ray Leonard. In my opinion that was one of the greatest back and forth boxing matches in history. Nobody I knew at the time gave Duran any chance at all and laughed at me favoring Duran. I knew he had taken time to get in shape and more importantly get in Leonard's head. He spit at Leonard and called Ray's wife a ***** at press conferences. He made Ray angry to the point he wanted to beat Duran up. Big mistake and Duran won. He then went on to beat up a lot of boxers who were much bigger and younger than himself to solidify his greatness.

TBH after all of what has been written on this thread, the foundation is set for the OP to look into Duran properly. Once he looks into Duran properly then he'd know what we're talking about.

I used to hate the fact that people would think Duran was the greatest of the fab four when he lost to all of them..now the guy is around 10th all time.
