no way he goes to Belfast unless they can make it a stadium fight. Got paid $500k last night didn't he? You'd have to at least double that to tempt the champion into an away defence surely. 10000 in the Odessey plus a couple hundred grand from boxnation aint going to leave enough for Carl and Barry is it?

Seen him a few times, but only took a lot of notice this morning when I watched the recording.I agree with you. He looked to me like a better version of Danny Garcia. Had this been a British boxer much would have been mentioned of his opponent being a southpaw. Nothing. And he had no trouble whatsoever. Beat Mijares up. I hope it is in Belfast as Carl will need every advantage. Much has been made of Carls win over Martinez, but this kid is different class, taller, faster, more skilful.I really hope Im wrong but I think this year or next year Santa Cruz will pull off an almost impossible task:beating an Irishman in Belfast.

If Santa Cruz was the same weight as Carl he'd do an Andre Ward on him.

    your ignorance is entertaining:)

The best sportsman from Northern Ireland ever is probebly universally recognised as George Best. Better than any english footballer i can think of too

Id also rate McGuigan above Froch, Pedroza is a better win than anything on Froch's resume

His not like Garcia though, Danny can counter punch and fight on the backfoot ,his movement is also a lot better his defense is also better. Iv never seen LSC having to fight on the backfoot. Is Garcia had have been like LSC matthysse would have more than likely knocked him out

Agree about Best.Ill bet Hodgson wishes he was taking somebody half as good to Brazil.I saw him play and he was a genius. Ditto about Mc Guigan. You can add Juan Laporte to the list for me,too. Credit to Frampton for targeting Santa Cruz, but I think he is the real deal.

Take your points. But as you say he's never had to fight going backwards.Mattyse a hell of a puncher but a bit overrated boxing wise,I think.

Interesting opinions here. So - who is right, those who say LSC is a one-dimensional volume puncher or those who say he is a 2-fisted wrecking machine sweeping all before him? Time will tell.

Im just not sold on Santa Cruz , when he finally fights a guy who can counter punch and push him back we will see if his the real deal but at the moment he just seems like a volume puncher with a very basic style

Not sure what your point is?

If Barry had the balls to put Frampton in with Rigo, Rigo would make him look like a bum who has just come off the street.

Whatever way you look at it, you don't have a history of outstanding sportsmen do you?

This would be unreal! The atmosphere for the Parodi fight was mental, against a world class star like Santa Cruz it would be off the scale.

You're a tube. George Best, Rory McIlroy, Pat Jennings, Joey Dunlop and Alex Higgins to name a few great Northern Irish sportsmen. For somewhere with a population our size we do well.

and England do? is that the only comeback you can come up with?

England invented soccer and yet ye still havnt produced anyone as good as George Best?

The population of ireland is 6 mil, the population of England is 53 million

Just under 9 times the population of Ireland so if you cant produce more outstanding sportmen than us with 9 times our population than there would want to be something seriously wrong with your country. The fact that your even having to argue with me that ye have more top quality athletes is pathetic.

USA produce way more top quality athletes than England and there population is only 6 times yours so it makes more sense to compare yourselves to them than Ireland
