I have one but the computer part doesnt work
    It is kinda good
I sparred a bit last night with a guy who works with the boys club and I think I did OK(but it was fairly light sparring)
it doesnt move and you dont get as much practice circling to the left and right but I think its probably good for figuirn out body/head combos

The gym I go to just has the rubber dummy man (without any lights...like he's flesh). I've never used one of these that were functional because the lights were broke. I'm thinking it could help a little bit stringing together combos, BUT more than likely the lights wouldn't last long. If I had my pick I'd pick the one I work with.
Plus, it looks like an actual human being. Whenever training visualization is one the most important things. You can shadow box all you want, but if you don't visualize your hitting on another person then you might as well do aerobics...Cuz all your accomplishing is a workout. Bruce Lee said when you work a punching bag you see a person, and when you see a person...you see a punching bag.
So, that's why I like the human like dummy. Whenever I have the gloves on, and sparring...I'll see the dummy, and just do the same thing to the person as I would the dummy.

The slam man with lights I have heard only negative about, things such as the lights breaking are very common. If your after just a light aerobic workout they are ok. The ones that Primenal is talking about are better in that they are more solid thus enabling you to hit it with some power.

    What was so dumb?
I do agree about about just getting a heavy bag...but I assumed if he wants one of these, and is already boxing...He'd already have one.

These should never be your ONLY heavy bag, but hey if you have the space and the money and can afford a good normal heavy bag PLUS one of these, then all power to you
