Altough he is ring-rusty, I was surprised with his showing last night. He came in with a gameplan and Chisora did not have an answer. I'm still wondering how he will do against a fighter of his own size, but he deserves a showdown with Wlad. My advise for Fury : 'Spar with Ustinov, or maybe make the Ustinov fight happen.'.
He's actually probably the best british Heavyweight. And he has a serious chance to become champion. Really promising, and looked to be maturing both psychologically and under the skill and strenght department. Let's not orget he stopped a top 15 hw with jabs alone.
I think he is where he is because of his size. He's very sloppy and he's fairly ugly to watch. Good things about him is that he works hard for just about the entire which is more than you can ask for with most heavyweights... And being as big as he is, he knows how to use it.
NOTE: I did not see his last few most recent fights... So feel free to disregard my comments if you think he has improved
I think when you combine how he performed last night, with his inside fighting skills and brawling ability also, you've got a pretty versatile heavyweight. He needs to get in better shape though and get back to fighting a good level opponent in the next 3 months. Ustinov fight would clear up some ducking issues.
He is his own worst enemy. If he focused on training and stick to diet all year around I think he can be World Champion one day. Against Chisora it was obvious that he hold back the powershots and even looked to the ref to save Delboy from further beating. Fury show stamina against Cunningham and have skills. But he have to throw more of combo powershots over rounds to have the belt. Overall he`s improving but Chisora was not much of a test. I also think Ustinov would be good before take on Wladimir. The problem is that no money in Ustinovfight but Tyson is King of selling fights on hes own. I will follow him with interest.
