I thought he looked quite impressive... haven't seen him before this. Really nice footwork and combinations. Seems very poised and looks like he can take a decent shot as well. What did you think?
Looked solid. Glaskov had no where near the hype of Povetkin, but i think this is the Russian to look out for.
Slava has an excellent jab but didn't use it as much today instead throwing combinations a little more than he has in recent fights and looked great doing it with his defense looking very tight as usual. His chin is very solid and proven against much better punchers than Tor so that wasn't an issue as expect but his counter punching is what impressed me most today. Anytime Tor opened up he was made to miss and Slava landed a hard counter following up with a combination after the inital shot. Glazkov actually apologized to the cameras after Hamer quit on his stool apparently feeling cheated like the fans did from being able to display more. Very good performance and great that he finally got some exposure and people know his name now because he's a top 5 HW prospect no doubt. Something i noticed before the fight is Tor was pacing back and forth trying to look mean attempting to psych himself up while Slava was totally calm even laughing with his trainer, he looked alot more confident and it showed once the fight started. Glazkov is Ukrainian.
So i guess Emelianenko, Kovalchuk, Popenchenko, etc are Ukrainian then? Don't be dumb there's lots of Russians with Ukrainian names and the reverse, Glazkov is from Ukraine, fought for Ukraine and is Ukrainian.
Look i don't really care if he is Russian/ Ukranian what ever. I heard him speak not one word of Ukranian in his post fight interview, and knowing a lot of east Ukranians identify as Russians i called him a Russian.
He beat a quality american that at one point was heralded as the savior of the division. In other words, he did ok, but we need to see him against quality euros to judge his level.
Глазков супер! I thought he looked really good. He's built like a tank, seems to have good fundamentals, and definitely looked comfortable in the ring. I watched a few fights of his that I could find online the last few days, and have to say he looked much better in this fight than in any of the older ones I saw. Very disappointed in Hamer quitting out like that, though, but that's for another thread...
Yeah, I was surprised to hear that as well. He has a nicely timed left hook that was giving Hamer some serious problems.
Who doesnt hold a win over Price in the AM's? It seems like half of the prospects in the HW division either beat KD'd or stopped him.
The KO was coming, Hamer knew it and quit. Very impressed to say the least. Looking forward to his next fight.
He better have an iron chin. Otherwise the critics will have a lot of fun with the name, Glazkov. Too easy.
