    What did you think of the motion picture Phantom Punch (2008)? This movie was an autobiography of Sonny Liston, starring Ving Rhames as Sonny Liston.

    I thought it was weak altough I like Ving Rhames-who as far as I know boxed in his youth aswell.

    What I do know Sonny’s wife wasnt no Stacey Dash.

    Good old Geraldine Liston. And in the movie Bridgette Wilson Sampras is Liston's mistress.

    I am terrible at reviews, but I will do my best on Monday. I will be busy with my Dad tomorrow. We are reconnecting in a very good way and it is going well for both of us.

    @Journeyman92

    I will tell you what. Since you asked, I will give you a fast, low quality review now, right before I go to bed:

    I have always liked Ving Rhames, and, in my opinion, he is the best thing about this movie. The early parts of the movie seem hurried to me, but decent. The Floyd Patterson fights are decent enough, as are the fights with Muhammad Ali, but the events leading up to the Ali fights are passed over. And after the Ali fights seems rushed as well. The acting, other than Ving Rhames as Sonny Liston, is not so good in my view, except I think Stacey Dash did a decent job as Geraldine Liston. From what I know about Sonny Liston's life, there is so much more that could have been done with this movie. And I believe there were too many (more or less) invented mob scenes, not really necessary if the movie had dealt with the wealth of material in Sonny Liston's real life. Sonny's death was shown but skimmed over quickly, although maybe that is how it should be done. It is, in the end, still a mystery, really, as is much about the man, himself.

    I will give it 3 out of 5 stars, which is probably generous since I have almost never met a boxing movie I did not like. I hope somebody eventually does a better movie about Sonny, but I could say that about many boxing movies based on real boxers.

    With all that said, if for no other reason than Ving Rhames as Sonny Liston, I would say it is worth a watch.
