I would have given Chris a warning and one more round to improve his situation, then stopping it if hes still catching the beating of his life.

    Good call.

The man had nothing else to proove. Takes a punch like a champ. He was catching more and more clean shots and wasn't letting his hands go. I doubt he would have been knocked out.

The referee just can't allow continued punishment to occur if they just aren't effectively fighting back.

It was a good stoppage. Chris was gonna get hurt and had little to no chance to win.

I thought it was a LITTLE premature, I think he should have gave him 1 more round, it was a heavyweight championship fight afterall.

I dont disagree with the stoppage, but the jerkoff was breaking them apart like a Mayweather fight... It was hard enough for Chris to get inside, but when he did the ref jumped in immediately.

If Chris lasted 12 rounds, it would have been a moral victory.

I would have let the guy finish the fight. he was still game and was still trying. He was getting hurt but he wasnt getting pounded on so badly that he couldnt finish.

There is such a thing as fighters pride.

Vitali was landing punches at will. The fight could have been stopped after the 9th round but since that was only one round removed from Arreola's best he was given an extra stanza. The Stoppage was appropriate.
