Any standard healthy diet is sufficient.

If you train hard enough eat whatever you want, unless you're thinking about competing.

Roman gladiators were vegetarians, Budist Monks, Kung fu artists, all vegetarian. The best diet in my opinion for a fighter is vegetarian, ask any doctor which is the healthiest diet.

The healthiest fighter will be the strongest fighter, boxing is about who is the healthiest?

Humans were genetically designed to be omnivores. I would say it is better to eat from mostly vegetarian sources.

Don't know if it's just your wording but we weren't "designed" we evolved.

    Why? :?

Vegetarianism isn't healthy, especially if you're training a sport like boxing where you need a lot of muscles, strength and quick muscle recovery. Without meat you don't get enough protein and enough vitamin D that's important for muscles.

I don't care about relics of the past and some obscure groups, check out what modern 21st century athletes (especially fighters) are eating and it's usually tons of meat.

You have people crying that protein shakes aren't healthy either, in fact supplements in general aren't healthy blah blah blah. If you look at it like this than fighting and training and professional sport in general isn't healthy either because you get injured in numerous ways. "Strongest fighter is the healthiest fighter" well the best boxers have had multiple injuries, weightcuts and blows to the head in their career, what exactly is healthy about that?

    Check Pacquiao's diet on Youtube

    Ye thats true mate
We scavenged meat in the hard times i.e winter. Before we learned to harvest our own plants we were nomadic vegetarians who ate meat when we found dead animals

Evolved is what I was thinking. Vegetarianism is a diet derived from plants, dairy, and eggs. I say mostly vegetarian because just think about it if we ate mostly meat. Most people eat a mostly vegetarian diet anyway. Is 50% or more of your diet pure meat? Probably not. Animals are injected with steroids and all kinds of other "****". Not saying that non animals sources aren't sprayed with "****" also but it is much easier to control what you eat as far as that goes. The only way to control the animals sources you eat is if you have a farm.

Vegetarian includes fish, which gives the required protein.

Fish provides the components for fast nerve impulses in the fighter.

Meat not good as stated above, the animal stores all its toxins in the fat, therefore fat is especially bad for the body as it may contain concentrated toxins.

    Vegetarian does not include fish.

You can get enough protein from plant based diets though.

I would strive for a nutritionally dense, balanced diet that meets your caloric needs.

    An example could be:
Breakfast - fruit (apple my preferred choice) & oatmeal (very easy to prepare in advance and make sure your start off your day on the right track)
snack - nuts, fruit, seeds, etc.
Lunch - salad, veggies/fruit, protein source
snack - nuts, fruit, seeds, etc.
dinner - brown rice/sweet potato, salad, protein source, leafy greens, veggies
Snack - cottage cheese, yogurt, nuts, etc.

I would also recommend drinking water with all your meals, drinking water regularly in general (with snacks in particular), using protein shakes and other supplements you understand would benefit you.

Avoid soda, fried food, and in general highly processed foods. Good luck.
