What do Floyds bouts against Castillo I, Oscar, and Cotto have in common?

The whole fight was on the inside. The only difference was Hatton wasn't allowed to hold as much as he would like. You don't need to hold in order to fight on the inside.

Floyd gets backed up with a jab, plus Cotto would throw his jab during Floyds combination effectively hitting him and throwing him out of his rhythm, Floyd doesn't look so untouchable as some delusional fans would have you believe.

Hatton was the epitome of pressure fighter, was undefeated and in his 20's when Floyd took him apart.

Ortiz,Baldomir, Gatti. ALL pressure fighters. I dont think its pressure that really troubles Floyd.

Mosely was coming off a destructive win over Margarito and was considered the man at 147,when fLOYD BEAT HIM.

The fact is,that Cotto is a quality fighter. He was arguably the #1 154lber in the world and Floyd went up and fought him there. It was never going to be an easy fight.

While that will give you good success you still wouldn't beat Mayweather unless you were able to defend from his arsenal as well. Your defense has to be on point first and then you can focus on doing the things above. Cotto did well looking to take away Mayweathers over hand right and did solid job blocking the looping shots after the first few got threw before he was even able to try to get his offense going. Mayweather also looked like he could land the jab to the head or body at will if he wanted to stay on the outside.

IMO Cotto and all these fighters defensive efforts are what put them in the fight over there offensive efforts, but both are needed. You can't beat Mayweather with pure offense.

Floyd has spent the last decade fighting champion, elite fighters, and a bloody nose against arguable the top 154lber and 3 weight world champion makes you think that hes not an amazing defensive wizard?

The guys probably the greatest defensive figher ever. Hes not however a machine. EVERY fighter in history who has fought at an elite level has been hurt, bloodied, bruised etc.

Hatton fought dirty inside. People forget that Mayweather outfought him inside in their fight along with countering him repeatedly coming in with straight rights.

Exactly. People say Chavez(of 01 as he fought two Chavez) had a great fight, how? Great effort yes but he was being picked apart. Augustus had a great effort too and was hitting him with good shots but not consecutive enough and still endured a beating. Educated pressure would trouble Floyd as it did when he fought Castillo and Cotto.

:dealThe guys who truly tested him in Cotto and Castillo used defense and educated offense along with imposing their size. Still didnt work but was effective enough to trouble him.
