What does Pac have to gain by fighting a shot old fighter who would barely be top10 at Welterweight?

What does Oscar have to gain by fighting a guy who's only had 1 fight above 130lbs?

Other than money I don't see the point in this fight, regardless of who wins. It definately isn't legacy.

Stupid bout for all parties. The size difference is going to be so pronounced early when jabs back Manny up that the credibility of boxing will be hurt, you can count on that.

Pac, if he beats DLH is impressive just because of jumping up but other than that, it's all money and a fight I'd most likely watch, but hope doesn't happen...I'd like to see him fight Hatton first, or some guys at 135

Whether the fight is competitive or not is not the point, the point is that its a meaningless matchup

This is meaningless because its not competitive. I cant think of another reason for why a fight would be more meaningless really.

I'll say it again DLH is the cancer of boxing.

He is not the answer to gaining some popularity to boxing. There are so many things thats wrong with boxing and having 1 super fight every 5 years with DLH stinking out the fight is not the answer.

then me and you are not on the same page at all.

For example, two tomato cans can fight each other and wether the fight is competitive or not, its still meaningless. ODLH vs Pac fighting at 147 is the same principle but less pronounced

If the fight was competitive, it would be meaningful as these are two of the biggest names in the sport, combined with the fact that the victor would get credit for his accomplishment.

Well as shot as Oscar is he is still seen as a huge threat for pac because of the size advantage. As old as he is if Pac canwin impressivly it would do wonders for his ATG status.

what accomplishment is that? Beating a big name way out of his weight class or beating a big name who is totally shot? I don't see where the credit is deserved.

    Nothing!

. . . if they fight . . . it's gonna be the "circus act of the century" . . . it will damage both fighters credibility more than anything else. Oscar will suffer more than Pacqauio because people know that the smaller Pac is taking this fight only for the $20 . . . how about DLH?

If Manny were to win this fight it would be an accomplishment, and one I would give him full credit for. Oscar is a huge fighter for Manny to get into the ring with, and should still have enough to easily put Manny away. If Manny somehow won, it would take guts and skill, not to mention having his chin tested at least once or twice.

Now if Oscar wins, he gains nothing, which goes back to my point of the fight not being competitive. I fully expect Manny not to be able to hang in there with him.

How the hell it can damage Pac's??? Pac will try the impossible!!!

DLH's already damaged... So this fight won't hurt any of his reputation.
