Sean Dodd booked himself a British title fight with Scott Cardle. But what do we actually think about the whole situation and where does this leave Gary Buckland?
I like Masher, I was so happy for him Saturday. It was such a relaxed and composed performance. I believe Cardle outboxes him but with a full camp aimed towards Cardle you never know, he might cause Cardle a few problems. Dodd really reminds me of Derry Mathews, he really does As for Buckland, Int'Butt said something on the Rbr along the lines of it was sad to see Buckland really struggling at that level and I have to agree. I would never say a fighter should retire, that's a decision for them and it depends what Buckland wants now, if it's money and he don't mind doing it then fine but I can't see him winning titles and I would hate to see him ending up being fed to young prospects for a few quid.
Dodd did well congratulations to him. Buckland has been a true warrior, value for money fighter as it stands has called it a day and retired.
can't take it away from dodd, fought a great fight that night. buckland is a true fighting man, a boxing warrior, never in a boring fight. will miss buckland fights
He looked an awful lot more experienced than he is. I was very impressed with his composure throughout. Anyone else get the impression Halling wasn't happy about Dodd winning? He kept going on about how Buckland was going to take over and steamroll Dodd any minute. When it didn't happen he seemed disappointed. Be a decent fight at the Echo in November. Would be good for him to win the title on a big show that close to home.
Spot on mate. Dodd deserved the win, was pleased for him. Have also enjoyed watching Buckland over the years.
