Seriously though, I can't call him a quitter for that. Quitting is what Sam Peter did against Vitali. He was on his stool, Vitali beat him up pretty good, but never really hurt him that badly, but Peter gives up.
In this case Cotto was a smart man, and knew if he'd have went on for another 30 seconds (if he could make it that long) he'd be finished off, and could receive more serious damage. He was a WALKING PUNCHING BAG!...and could barely even do the walking part. In 10 seconds he'd have simply sit up against the ropes and have just been the punching bag.
I guarantee nobody on this forum would have kept going if they were him in that fight. Actually, most people would have quit rounds before that. There's no pro boxers that'd have went on either...Unless they got more heart than brains. Ward/ Gatti would have probably stayed down, and if they wouldn't have...Just goes to show you what happens to people that don't listen to there bodies.

cotto had clearly made adjustments for the fight with margo. instead of normally being the preditor stalking his opponents down, he was the prey. margo was beating the **** out of him and due to the punishment and constant pressure, he pretty much had no choice but to pop his **** in reverse.

cotto isnt known as a runner. guzman is.
