I guess it's just a matter of perception. If a guy was 34 years old and had a 38-0 record I wouldn't consider him a veteran. In fact, I wouldn't even know what to consider a guy like that. I just know that I would withhold the term "veteran" for someone who had a few losses and more ringwear. In other words, a guy who's experienced losing. A fighter who's known nothing but success deserves more than the term veteran.
