After hearing about the coming convention of the WBA, WBC, and the IBF, and their concept of a Super Heavy Weight division, I really gave thought to how many SKILLED giant sized HWs have there been in the sport?

And I dont want this to turn into a **** throwing contest over the K Brothers, so dont ****ing start.

My definition of a Super HW is a HW that is at least 6'2 or 6'3 and is physically fit at 230+

Since the modern era begin, there have been few Top-Level-(World title contender, Top 10, ranked etc etc) HWs that have been or exceeded this size

In my opinion, other than the Klitschko brothers and Lennox Lewis, there have been very few truly skilled "Super" HWs

What are your views on this?

Do we need another division? IMO we don't need another one, just like you said there not too many skilled "Super HW's" so this would just deplete the HW division.

HW is sort of an odd weight class because the potential extremes of the class are huge.

I dont want a SHW division, its completely unnecessary

Other than the Klitschkos, Lewis, and a few others, there havent been any elite SHW sized fighters in the division. Certainly not enough to mandate creating a new Super division

thing is there have always been big hw champs. hell primo carnera was 6'5" plus all the way up to riddick bowe. carnera was seen as a sort of a meathead and bowe showed flashes of brilliance in what could have been a great prime of his career.

but history has shown that athletic brick **** houses with talent will overcome these guys. hell max baer gave up a lot of size to carnera and holy gave up a **** ton of size to bowe even though he bulked up for subsequent bowe fights.

our problem today is we lack an ass kicking 6'2" 225lb brick shithouse. all we have are good big guys and terrible big guys. it will happen one day fellas...someone will come along who looks like a jacked up cw and will clean up. who that will be who knows.\

    but i agree mexicanjew...we don't need a shw division.

And the problem of the Hevyweights (besides the Klitschkos and some others) is they are not well trained and overweight! Look at Arreola, he had the chance of his life and 2 months before the fight he weights 290 lbs.! This is the problem.

Chambers shows how it works against the big guys, he is skilled and was well trained, not fat and win against Dimitrenko.

Besides of the Wlad the big guys are not so skilled, so a small man with good skills has a chance to win.

Super heavyweight division is a farce and should not exist. Besides the Klitschkos who's the super dangerous big man? Nobody. Valuev, biggest ever yet he was defeated by Chagaev who may not even be six feet tall. Once you reach a certain point tall+big work against a boxer. Really, the "super heavyweight division" would be worse than the heavyweight division. After Vitali and Vladimir who do you have? Not very many, if any all real competitors. There wouldn't even be a real top ten list of fighters for that division.

Lennox Lewis at his prime was hard to beat, and part of that was his height and weight. Shorter heavyweights, I don't care how talented or gifted, will have a hard time beating him. There are advantages and disadvantages to being taller or bigger, but overall I have to feel that there are much more advantages than disadvantages. Isn't that why we have weight classes to begin with? It's to level the playing field for everyone. Yeah there haven't been too many tall heavyweights that are super skillful, but there's also a reason why the heavyweight champions in the last 14 years have been tall also.

I like the idea of forcing the K's to fight someone their size but for goodness sakes a SHW division would pretty much destroy the little bit of excitement the HW division was able to generate last year.

Being bigger doesn't gain any advantage, bigger can mean they're slower or lack stamina. The division is fine as it is, adding another one isn't needed and even if they did it will be lacking. You're going to have Valuev, the Klitschkos and Julius Long fight one another forever.
