Read through the thread. I have turned my back in sparring (against a 170er) and had others turn their backs (I did NOT hit them).

This guy was a spaz AND bigger than me, so it was mainly about sportsmanship where the opponent wasn't sporting.

I dont know, turning your back in combat sports is a no-no! If he's turning out of fear i'd say tap him to let him know what YOU COULD OF DONE. If he's turning his back alla Tommy Morrison vs Big George and thinks he's slick hit him the back of the head. Its funny both examples that come to mind are with george foreman. Frazier at one point in there first fight turned his back on George and George just belted him in the back of the head, the other was Tommy Morrison who walked away from George in a cowardly manner trying to be cute. In Kendo, even at the olympic level if a kendo-ka turns there back to there opponent to restart in the middle of the mat or whatever- the opponent usually hits him with a bamboo shinai (sword) to let him know if this were life and death he could of been dead. Boxing can be life and death as well. I'm babbling on but long story short dont let him get to comfortable in that habit

If it's sparring, I let them reset and let them know not to do it again either during the break or when we're all done.

If it's a street fight, someone's going to feel my heel in their kidneys. And then I go run like a ***** before someone calls the cops on my sorry ass.
