He's had a 19 month layoff, got stopped by Postol and suffered a broken orbital bone. Emmanuel Taylor says he's going to make Matthysse quit. What do you expect from Matthysse tonight?

Good opponent, but I expect either a late stoppage or clear UD from him.

I expect a poor performance with either a late stoppage or a close decision either way.

I am actually looking forward to seeing LM again, it's been a long time.

I hope he can get the win and look good doing it.

not an easy fight for lucas considering circumstances. if the layoff did lucas any good he will crush taylor hes on another level. or was he on another level? we will see. if lucas is anything close to his old self he will hurt taylor ko him early. but those days are most likely gone.

we will see each fighters approach . lucas might wanna ease his way in and knock the rust off . so maybe expect taylor to compete early. action should pick up mid way but this can go to decision no doubt. especially if lucas looking to get sum rounds in an kinda re invent himself for longevity. and box and play d little more or better.

this fight has potential for a slug out if lucas fight anything like his old self but the inactivity is throwing me off. everyone takes the time of differently. some guys cant handle the long lay off they need to stay active to stay sharp n motivated. some times it much needed rest. should be a good scrap.

interested to see what taylors gameplan is going to be. to try to outbox him? to slug it out with the slugger him self ? mite be smart to jump on lucas n see if he still has it or that could b a bad idea. thats why boxing is great undercard fights are usually boring but this could be fun

I think he'll bounce back with a KO. Taylor can't box like Postol can. He's pretty flat footed and will be right in front of Lucas.

    KO

    or I don't care.

Matthysse is shot if he can't KO this kid. Matthysse made his career off KO's extremely tough opponents who had never been stopped or sometimes even dropped before. Can't do it tonight then he is done.

He was a guy that needed a break and a rest, he'll come back and put on a good show

He needed a rest and MIGHT come back better for it. But I don't fancy him at 147 at this stage. He looked like the smaller guy in a lot of his fights at 140. I hope he surprises us though because he is a very entertaining fighter.
