A very close fight, wich most see for Geale but goes the way of the bigger named Cotto.

I hope the MW title will return to the Middleweight division tonight.

I expect Cotto's left hook (head and body) to find its mark quite a bit and Geale to fold somewhere between rds 8-10.

    Cotto tko9 Geale

Geale will have struggled cutting the extra weight, there's only so much urine, sweat and spit he can shed as I've read somebody say before, but it's not as if he's skipped a whole division, so it can't be aggrandized into some walking skeleton thing. It shouldn't affect the outcome of the fight but it won't help, if that makes any sense, it's hard to explain. It's fine margins and all depends how it effects Geale, we'd have to compare his previous showings to judge if it truly affected him significantly (within reason of it being 3 pounds). I think Cotto wins a decision about 116-112 but the scorecards will sy 118-110. Trout, Rodriguez and Martinez are all we have to go on, Geale won't be anywhere near at a disadvantage as Martinez and he's much better than Rodriguez, which leaves the Trout fight but that was also a long time ago with an unmotivated Cotto.

Cotto beating Geale pretty decisively ..I would be shocked if Geale pulled it out considering he drained himself so much ..

I ain't gonna lie, I got Trout on the mind. For me it's a Trout situation that's he's got to avoid and all I can do cross my fingers and hope that Freddie has that handled. It will be interesting to see what Freddie comes up with for Cotto being able to get to Geale. Cotto will not have another "gimme' type situation at middle weight like he had with Martinez by being able to catch Martinez off guard because he was looking at Cotto as a little guy. No more of that, the much larger Geale said himself he will be giving him his full respect and staying on the outside and boxing Cotto, and if you want Cotto to win, that has to have you a little worried.

Geale is a boxer-mover, his strategy for the Cotto fight was known long before the contracts were signed

So you completely expected him to move and box against a much smaller man?? A strategy can easily change according to perceived natural advantages one has. It is not a foregone conclusion that just because one moves and boxes against guys his own size that he would still choose to do so against one he may see as a midget.

Geale comes out boxing and moving, Cotto gets going around round 3 after a couple of feeling out rounds. Miguel starts to work the body and by round 7 or so, Geale is tiring. Cotto mixes up decent head action with some of his great body shots and stops Geale around round 9. I think the scorecards will be 5-3 for Cotto when it ends.

Close fight, but Cotto will get the nod. Then it is on to a final payday against Canelo.
