Here's a young guy with tremendous speed and great skill ... has youth on his side and alot of room to improve ... he's already got enough skill to fight on the elite level ... but has room to acheive greatness. Trained by Nacho Beristein ... he's the air apparent to the Marquez bro's ... I got this guy on tape and i'm amazed at his speed ... quickness ... boxing ability ... and overall skill amazes me.
I saw his last fight against Gabi. he looked good. poised and patient. Good power. I don't remember too well but i think i was not overly impressed. It was a short fight
This kid caught my eye too, as he seemed very poised for sucha young fighter. As mentioned he seems to be cut from the same mold as the Marquez brothers, and being that he is from the Beristein school he is very technical yet fluid in his combinations. Hopefully he has the one quality that has seemed to let the Marquez brothers down from time to time (ie chin). Hopefully I'm not wrong and he will go on to do great things.
Is he in the Golden Boy stable? If so, I expect we will be seeing quite a bit of him in the near future
Damn thats a good question ... if he is then we are going to see alot of him. Does anyone know if he's under GBP?
:good Thought he was, read an article on GBP best prospects etc Abner mares was pretty high in the list I think, poss no1. From what Ive seen, he looks good, time will tell however, about how good he will be
I just checked the site and he is under GBP ... this is going to be good ... You know I wish that GBP would have their own PPV events ... i'm sure they would sell. You got 29.95 ... and you get 30-60k buys you'll make a killing ... especially when you're show casing up and comers. Add Michael Buffer to the mix and you have a show !!
he's a floater right now ... inbetween 118 and 122 ... i'm sure he'll make a pic once he makes his championship run. I would like to see him at either weight ... he's fast enough to compete at either weight.
Started at 122, now fights at 118. He should get a title shot there, possibly vs. Penalosa then move up after a couple of defenses or if he loses.
How perfect would that be ... a title fight against Penelosa ... he has a regional belt (WBO NABO strap) and he's defended it twice ... he's in line for a title shot soon.
