I hope he fights Clottey, cus he will finish the job of derailing the Berto train that Collazo started.

Berto tries to be slick, but his reflexes aren't fast enough to let him get away with it. When he's using the half-guard defense, he needs to use it on the outside, but when he gets inside, he needs his hands up and he should attack like a pitbull with foward momentum.

He's always leaning back too much, which keeps him off balance, and he doesn't get full power from his punches. And the way he holds his hands on the inside gets him hit by hooks to often, and he was letting Collazo hit his body at will, despite Berto's short stature.

A guy like Cintron would knock him out. He would have no answer for Clottey because of Berto's tendency to get in a brawl would get him roughed up on the inside, considering his lack of defense.

If Floyd came back, he would outbox him. Margarito would make him quit. Cotto should beat him, but the way Cotto comes in with his head down might get him knocked out by a Berto uppercut.

Berto really needs to diversify his attack though, and go to his opponents body, but he's got to throw those combinations. What's the point of all that speed and what sounds like power, if you don't throw your hands?

Good fighter, his fight with Collazo (in my honest opinion was a robbery) was great, a great way to start off 2009. He's got the skills (speed, pop, good footwork) but he needs to work on his cardio a bit more.

Entertaining, good, solid fighter. Definitely worth watching even if he's more beatable than upper level belt holders, and has nothing to be ashamed career wise for a young fighter only a few years into his career. I had Collazo winning their fight, and I think there should be a rematch after Berto gets 1 or 2 more defenses in as I feel he could use the experience, and the rematch won't lose any steam if there's some time taken to let it simmer.

I don't know why people say he is too short. Just because that idiot Kellerman says so.

The guy is 5'8 and a half at Welter. Just because you've got a couple big guys in the division that doesn't mean he needs to drop a weight class.

He needs to lose weight tho. He can't be 160 on fight night because his stamina looked weak. He did throw a lot of punches, but he could have been in better shape.

Berto is good, but his defense is crappy.

    114-113 Collazo.
