I predicted he'd be much better and KO Chisora. Too bad Chisora has the heart of a lion and a solid chin.

But I think Parker was actually really good. I have no idea how the score cards were so close.

Parker's defence is still almost none existent, but he looks far more of a threat now IMO.

I think he'd KO Whyte in a rematch and he'd beat Ruiz. His punching seems more varied and more accurate with greater power.

He beat Chisora far more convincingly than Whyte OR Usyk did.

Don't give a **** about the judges scorecards. I had Parker winning by at least 8 points.

3 knockdowns + other rounds he clearly won.

Usyk beat Chisora much easier than Parker. Didn't need two two fights, didn't get dropped and outworked, outclassed Del Boy while being 38 pounds at a disadvantage.

    Usyk >>>>>>Parker.

Even Pulev beat Chisora easier than Parker.

Parker did good the other night.
But Chisora is past it and never much good. It's not unreasonable to surmise that Chisora has deteriorated since their first fight six months ago, nevermind Usyk in 2020 and Whyte in 2018.
That's not to say Parker didn't show improvements in the rematch. He did. But the opponent isn't much good and worse than ever, let's be realistic about that.

Parker looked better in the 2nd fight than the first.

Chisora is a tough dude if not the most skilled his pressure style can be awkward to look good against.

I think Parkers time with Andy Lee (who I rate) is begining to yield some results.

Yes he lacks the venom one would like. he is however still young despite fighting a long time time with Lee will add a few things to his game.

The scorecards were typical British BS. I've said many times already if Joshua makes his fight with Usyk closer to within a couple of rounds he WILL get the nod.
I know this will send the forum into meltdown it's just the way it will go.
I had predicted a win for Usyk in the first fight I just wasn't confident of him getting the nod due to judging.

    Bump this if I'm wrong.

Parker was impressive and my opinion hasn't changed that he is still one of the top guys in the divison.

Parker was very smart to put on weight, he was able to stay competitive on the inside and looked like the stronger man

Parker did not looked impressive against anyone in the recent years.

He got gifted dicision against Fa and Chisora 1.

Why he is still ranked so high I don't know.

he ranked #2 in WBO and #4 in IBF and WBC.

His latest fight was good, but not that good to consider him top 5 or even top 7

Parker just isn’t a smart and creative fighter. He can follow a game plan without thinking. He’s like the anti-Crawford in that regard. Crawford watches and puts it on in different ways, he figures it out as he goes. Parker goes in a straight line from start to finish. He can be the outside boxer never committing to anything, or the inside guy trying to throw heavy punches. Not both. I get that he’s trying out a new style and I like it, but I have a very strong suspicion he just isn’t a thinker in anyway. He’s tough and has fight in him, no doubt. You wind him up and he goes, but that lack of creativity will mean that he never gets on top of the elite of the division.

If he fought with that kind of intensity on a regular basis he might be a star.

But he doesn't and it's pretty late in the game for him to be remaking himself.

I really enjoyed that fight, but am not expecting much from either of them going forward.

Kamil Sokolowski who was in camp with Parker and had previously sparred him before said he's much stronger now.

He looked a lot sharper and more vicious than he has in years. Much closer to the younger version that was blasting guys away with explosive combinations. I predicted Chisora would KO him but he didn't come close so I'm happy to hold up my hands and say Parker impressed me. He needs to start working in some angles to his work though, and work on his timing and setup. He does that and I wouldn't be surprised if he suddenly started getting a ton of KOs. His uppercut was a thing of beauty and his chained left hook was almost Povetkin like at times. Still slaps too much with his OH right; needs to tighten that up and work on sneaking it through the guard better. Good use of a two handed push off to stymie Chisora's follow up attacks. Jab was a bit meh, but it usually is. Would be nice to see him work it into his game a bit more though. If he can keep opponents getting set it makes them much more vulnerable to his power shots.

Hope it's not too late to see real changes in his game. A rejuvenated Parker will be a very dangerous opponent for almost anyone in the division.

If there is one area Andy Lee needs to work on with Parker to take him on and at least be competietive with Fury/Usyk etc is that "killer instinct" to be able to capitalise on an opponents mistakes, and finish them off.

I've always said Parker's biggest problem is that he's too nice a guy, and he needs to see the guy across the ring as an enemy to be be beat down, not someone to be mates with.

I don't at all think Parker was being a "nice guy" in Chisora 2.

Ask anyone at ringside how loud and heavy those punches were.
