The sport is still young. A year ago, I thought my top 3 were a lock for years to come. Now, I don't know that it will last two more years. Right now, no one is near those 3. Let Velasquez or Dos Santo go on a 5 or 6 fight win streak, and one or both of those guys may be in the mix.

Still, it will take some real accomplishments to break up my top 3, but anyone 4th and back could change within the next 6 months.

I would say Barnett is pretty solid as well, it would take alot more than a win over JDS or Cain to replace his standings.

The only notable win Couture has is Rizzo? What about UFC heavyweight champ Kevin Randleman? What about UFC heavyweight champ Maurice Smith who had just handed Coleman his first loss? The Sylvia and Gonzaga wins were great wins not only considering Couture's age but also his opponents place in the division with Sylvia being top 5 and the best heavyweight the UFC had to offer and Gonzaga having just knocked out the #2 heavyweight in the world Cro Cop in devastating fashion. These are very clearly all excellent wins.

Oh and btw most of Semmy's losses came against guys who were 2/3 his size like Kondo x3, Funaki, Mezger, Hasegawa, Yanagisawa, etc. Furthermore Semmy's best heavyweight win came against Pete Williams. Nuff said.

For all of Werdum's poor gamesmanship, he has wins over both Emilianenkos, Bigfoot, Gonzaga x2 , Overeem, how can you put for example, Couture's HW accomplishments over that?:huh

at first glance it seemed unlikely that could be anyones top ten but truth be told its probably very close once you step back and consider it fully. That said i did think shamrock or frye might have snuck in.
of course its one of those things that will NEVER reach a consensus.

Fedor, Nog, CC, Barnett are the 4 best ever. After that it becomes very debatable. To date, no one can match their body of work.

Barnett is a steroid cheat and therefore all his accomplishments have to be weighed as such. His UFC title win should be completely discredited. Without that - what exactly has he accomplished at heavyweight?
