RJJ to bt tito Haye to bt enzo Calzaghe to bt hopkins Chagaev to bt Skelton Maskeav to bt Peter Pavlik to bt Taylor £100 acc. with Corals pay roughly £2000, I'm kinda unsure on the Maskeav fight but am fairly confident otherwise. If i ditch Oleg I'll only get £440 for my troubles so I'm considering maybe £70 on the acc. and then £5 on each of the 6 fivefolds. It's only a hundred quid and I'll probably do it anyway but I'd appreciate some opinions!!
Pretty good bet but like you i would worry about the Peter fight and probably go with big Sam. Good luck!
It's worth a punt, but it's not worth the risk without Oleg. "It's only a hundred quid" you say! I wish I could afford to lose that in one go at the bookies.
Only joking. There's far worse ways to get rid of a hundred quid these days. Enzo Macc could mess things up, though.....
Bookmakers love people who do accumulators. Every extra selection multiplies the advantage that they have over you built into the odds.
If you think they are all good value bets at the odds you should put money on them separately. Accumulators don't improve the value of bets - in fact they tend to decrease it as with individual bets you can shop around for the best odds.
Not really true. If you think you have 5 dead certs, bet on individually your returns are gash. An accumulator changes that. For example my mate but a £1 line on at the weekend of 7 games I think it was, and if Juve had won instead of drawing 1-1 he would have won £200. Now if he had bet £5 on each of those games individually his winnings would not have been even £80 let alone £200.
Not sure about Pavlik - Taylor either, to be honest. Could go either way and i acutally have a good feeling about Taylor.
Err, surely if he had bet on each of the games individually, his winnings would have been £80 rather than zero..... There's a reason why the bookmakers have those special forms for putting accumulators on football matches, with eye catching examples of the accumulated odds that you can get. And the ones where you predict the score and the first goalscorer. It's because those are the bets that they want you to do. They don't want you to bet singles.
I like it overall, but RJJ could be a bad pick if he continues to deteriorate. Maskaev / Peter could go either way of course but that is where a lot reward is. Personally I like your call.
To calculate the odds for an accumulator the bookies multiply the implied probabilities of their odds on the individual events and then translate it back to the standard fractional odds format (or whatever you use). Clearly whether or not the accumulator is good value is determined by the value of the odds of the separate events with that particular bookie. If you don't like the look of the individual bet don't include it in your accumulator no matter how much you like the look of the possible winnings because it's only decreasing your expected return. Forcing you to take their odds on several events rather than shopping around (I use http://www.oddschecker.com) means they are almost guaranteed to have an advantage.
