We all got our favorites, but I'm more curious as to the "why" question. What is it about your favorite fighters that makes you like them or what qualities do you look for when determining your "must watch" list?
Roy Jones is my fav fighter of all time. In my opinion he revolutionized the sport. He was something different than anything I had seen before. The whole p4p debate sparked mostly because of him (some of the debate started with Sugar Ray Robinson). I think I base my favorite fighters on unique superior ability. Now a days Floyd Mayweather is my favorite fighter. I think he has some unique superior ability himself. Some compare him to sweet pea, but I think his offense isn't as good as sweet pea's, but his defense and mind are better
well the way floyd beat baldo. was perfect. It was a Boxing Master Piece. I have never seen a champion get picked apart that way. He looked completely over matched. big diffrence from when baldo took on zab
I look for total dedication. IMO, if a guy has that, he has the most important thing. Johnny Tocco (RIP), used to tell me that most anything else can be overcome (within reason of course). My 'favorites' include (but not limited to) the 'Marvelous' one and Sweat Pea both who - at least most of the time - "lived it, ate it, breathed it, slept it."
I like Vitali and Vladimir Klitschko. They are intelligent, skilled, extremely hard punchers and are hated by the "sour grapes' haters. They train hard, do not drink or take illegal drugs.
Heart! I like the Rogan type fighter who wins and provides surprises. The ride is exciting as long as it lasts. Underdogs who go on to have long reigns. Don't like Naz type fighters, unless they get smashed.
I appreciate all styles as long as a fighter is good at what he does. I have a strong preference for KO artists.
excitement, willing to make the biggest match ups and take the biggest challenges. Heart, determination to come back from adversity and never giving in to the critics.
