What do you make of Amir Khan's strange choice?

Does Amir's rather odd decision to choose Jorge Rubio as his new trainer instead of Roach or McGirt or Mayweather, remind anyone of Naz sacking Emmanuel Steward and replacing him with Oscar Suarez? Do you think Amir genuinely chose Rubio on merit, or could there be any other reason why he rejected the world's top three trainers for this guy?

Everyone knows Khan is used to home comforts and did not have the heart to move to the USA to train. The Khan camp wanted top trainers to base themselves in the UK and committ to training Khan full time.

No top pro USA trainer was willing to come to the UK for more than a week or 2 at a time. When the likes of Roach have Pacman, why would they want to come to the UK for a cut of a £60K purse (or whatever Khan gets) when they can work with real champions and earn a cut of a $million+ purse.

The only guy willing to come to the UK was Rubio, he was not up to much in the USA and had no super fighters who would earn him decent paydays.

Of cause the usuall Khan ***** lickers will try and sell you Rubio as a super trainer who was sole in charge of the cuban am boxers such as Kindelan and a trainer to Haye and Gamboa. This is all **** talk from the Khan camp.

No trainer can make his chin better - wether it is a unknown or Emanuel Steard training him.

Khan is not one of the Worlds top fighters - he just thinks he is.

Top trainers in the world - work with the best fighters in the world.

Khan is a Commonwealth Champion - Oliver Harrison his old trainer was hardly the second coming of Eddie Futch.

Naz hiring Manny Steward was strange enough.

If you had an hour to name the worst fighter & trainer combo, you would be hard pressed to come up with something different.

Naz never fired Emanuel Steward for Oscar Suarez, they both worked the corner for Barerra! Which was strange.

Got to agreee, look at Steve Collins , by no means the most talented fighter in the world but he went to the states got good sparring , good coaching and tough fights and look what he achieved !

Then again Steve was/is a triple tough dude , i dont know if Khan has the onions for it.

Oh, another thread about an English boxer loaded primarily with Scottish, and Welsh people calling an English boxer a c@nt.

I myself am very critical of his Kahn's career progress, but I don't think it warrants that. Where are all the posts with equivalent abuse aimed toward Maccarinelli, Calzaghe, and Arthur for example. All three of their careers at their respective points (same number of fights) were behind where Kahn's is now. I don't see post after post calling any of that lot C@nts.

Some people appear to have more chips then even fatton could ever eat. :smooch

How can Khan be a lost cause at 21? :patsch

I agree he needs to fight the domestic comp. before he says **** about beating the worlds elite.
But i believe the boy has got ambition and although i highly doubt he will reach elite level hes gonna be a hugely exciting fighter on the fringes of world level and if you ignore what comes out of his mouth he will prove to be very entertaining
