Previously I had only watched his fight with Tete but today I watched his fight with Cesar Ramirez and from what I saw Casimero while not being the most intelligent guy in the ring is able to make some good adjustments which work in his favor but his propensity to try to land big shots to end the fight at one go isn't the best thing. He is a more see- react guy than the one adhering to a certain game plan and going with it,do you think he can beat RigonDOX that way?
People keep talking about his power, but I don't really see it. He looks terrible on the heavy bag and his defense looks poor. I think Rigo's gonna spark him. I thought Nonito was going to as well.
Prime Rigo beats him senseless. But Rigo isn't even close to his prime. Rigo turns 41 next month, had a two year layoff and looked shockingly bad against both Solis and Ceja. Solis, a journeyman in his late 30s, rocked him to his core a couple of times and Ceja was dominating the early rounds until he got caught. Rigo is just too old at this point. He's shot to bits and he also has to cut a shitload of weight to make 118. I'd be surprised if he beats Casimero. I think Rigo might do well early on, can see him snatching a few rounds with a counter heavy style and a lot of movement but i think his legs will slow and once he's too stationary Casimero will be right there to capitalize. I'm not super high on Casimero. I think he's crude and basic but his pressure is pretty damn hot. He can be outboxed pretty easily as we saw in some of his fights but at some point he's getting through with the pressure and lands the big shots. I expect him to do that tonight. Casimero by stoppage in R7-12. Can see him losing on the cards at this point but i think he'll get Rigo. Wouldn't be shocked to see a tired and busted up Rigo quitting in his corner. I can see why people like Rigo here. But they're making the mistake and assuming we'll see Prime Rigo. We won't. Stylistically Casimero is a beautiful matchup for Rigo but 8-10 years ago. Not in 2021.
B level, had some luck in his career being able to get three belts in three different weight classes but thats how it is in the smaller divisions where the weight margin by division is not so much compared to the higher ones. His power is not all that, now Inoue that is some real power. Rigo can beat him but that is up to rigo on how he will perform at this stage
Whichever way the fight's gonna go is okay for me as long as it turns out to be fun but like you said Casimero is far from elite level.
There's some nuances to his game though, I think he's a better boxer than a lot of people realize. Someone's the seemingly crude and awkward fighters are actually masters. You don't have as good a resume as Casimero without being very good, I think this version of him is a tough out for anyone at 114-120. I don't think he'll brawl here as much as he has in some fights, even an old Rigo is too good for that.
He's okay. But there is nothing special about his boxing skills to be honest. He was in trouble against all kind of opponents but his power bailed him out at some point. I don't think his resume is that great. At least if we talk about actual WINS. Best win is Tete for sure and Edwards was a nice W too but overall he beat a lot of B level fighters. Not many A level. And Tete is chinny and doesn't deal well wit power.
Yeah, but that's most of that weight region resume wise, few A level wins with lots of solid and mediocre ones in between. I agree that he's not some master boxer and that his power is definitely the difference maker, but he's better than many give him credit for. If he loses to Rigo, I'll concur that he's nothing more than a mediocre fighter with a good punch.
Yeah, i agree. If he loses to 41yo Rigo who barely got past Liborio Solis in his last fight two years ago Casimero can go back and fight Jonas Sultan in a rematch for the journeyman throne.
