What do you make of Tony Yoka's second pro fight?

What the... both Yoka and his opponent were doing the Ali shuffle.

What do you think of the fight. It looked competitive in parts in every single round. Could be argued Yoka lost the third round.
Yoka looks very hitable and was tagged with good shots throught the fight.
It was a very entertaining fight with them both going to war in the fifth round.
Why was the KD ruled as a slip in the sixth round, it was clearly a punch that put him on his arse?

I have to say Tony has balls figgting two boxrec top 100 guys in his first fights.
Especially this guy that has never been stopped before outsizes Yoka and is strong.

He looked decent considering it's only his second pro fight, and against a rugged journeyman at that.

Given his pedigree, I expect he will be fast-tracked; but also feel his lack of power, questionable stamina and shaky whiskers will see him found out as he steps up to the fringe world level against men like Carlos Takam and Johann Duhaupas.

I personally believe Tony Yoka's Olympic contemporaries, Joe Joyce and Filip Hrgovic, have styles and attributes which make them much better suited to the pro game than him (who I view as being like a Heavyweight Tony Harrison), and as such, will probably get further in the pro ranks than him.

    Let's see what happens.

He's fast but has flaws in his game. He's only effective from a distance, no inside game whatsoever. Like most quick fisted guys is most effective when leading but hasn't learned to really counter and box as effectively when on the back foot. He retreats too far to the ropes and leads himself vulnerable when he does.

He kind of reminds me of a heavyweight version of Amir Khan at the moment. His defence needs a lot of work. He just shells up and becomes a big target for his opponent to unload on when he does.

If I was his handlers I'd give him time to develop he'll get exposed if pushed along too fast.

Defense is very leaky and his form starts to breakdown after a few rounds from fatigue. He'll be found out once he steps up.

I know. The game has changed. It seems like the average height for a the best super heavyweights in the amateurs is around 6'4" tall.

The days of 6 foot heavyweights are almost over unless he has top power and a good chin.

Shit. I forgot the fight was today and missed it.

Wow. It went the distance? It's one thing if Yoka carried the guy for experience, but he officially lost some rounds? Pretty bad sign. I'll have to watch it myself though.
