I wouldn't consider my self an old timer quite yet but here's my opinion.
I'm not a big fan of overhyping a fighter because when you build up such massive expectations in your own mind the let down will be all the more devastating when or if the they don't live up to the hype. And as far as GGG goes he got the skills, he's got the power and all around seems like the total package so he's deserving of a certain amount of hype that he receives although I'm apprehensive about the idea that some fans have that he would steamroll guys like Ward and Froch and personally I think a healthy prime Sergio would have given him problems.

So he is deserving of the hype to a certain extent because he's beaten a lot of really good B fighters but A level fighters are a whole different kettle of fish, so some hype is fine the ridiculous overhyping gets a bit much sometimes.

He has looked sensational so far but the hype is way too much considering the calibre of opposition. According to some guy on here he hits harder than Povetkin and Perez, and Ward has zero chance of beating him...

GGG is clearly a great fighter, I know the MW division isn't the best but you can still tell how good he is, even against the guys he's been fighting. I would put his skills in the top P4P level but obviously it's hard to actually rank him there due to his lack of A level opposition. But this isn't a Lucian Bute or Jeff Lacy we're looking at here, the guy is the real deal.

You can only judge him on who he's fought.... and hes fought some real good fighters.... and utterly destroyed them

Dont worry about the over hypers, or the haters. Fact is Gennady is the next P4P King after the era of Floyd Manny and Juan

I wish GGG was 4-5yrs younger........... He is almost 33 and that doesn't leave a great deal of time in the future he will be prime years.

We need to see the big fights from him next 2 years.

This is what im talking about. Way too premature to declare him being the next p4p king as 'fact'.

You wanna guess how old Golovkin is?
At 34 you consider him the future of boxing. ****e Gennedy is almost as old as Flody.

Not an old timer... but I think GGG is the best MW and someone who could have some success at SMW. I do think Ward beats him, but I find his hype entertaining (mainly because I think people are purposely exaggerating to mess with the haters).
