What you say is the absolute truth Marnoff and it is a sad indictment to boxing in general and promoters in particular that it is so.

Check out his last 4 fights then tell me he`s still got it, he hasnt, its over.

He really wanted to end his career by becoming the 1st Mexican born fighter to win titles in 4 different weights, it was his dream, most thought he beat Diaz to accomplish this feat but the 3 fat ****s took it away from him so now he wants to come back to try again.... if he gets hurt, those assholes that judged that fight should feel responsible somewhat IMO.

I'd rather him stay retired. He had a glittering career and was a fantastic boxer. There is no need for him to come back.

His whole thing was throwing punches from weird angles... Take some shots, but give back a lot of damage in return. When he starts going up against the top guys at WW, he's going to get hit in ways that he never has before. I don't hate it if he has completely reinvented himself as a fighter, but how likely is that? He was always stubborn; that was one of his great qualities. How is he going to stop himself from getting into a brawl when the blood starts flowing and the red mist of battle clouds his mind? It seems impossible...

My all-time favorite fighter. I hope for the best. I don't want to see him endure a Barrera-like beating at the hands of a superior young boxer.

If he does think he can do it, he wouldn't be the first boxer to prove people wrong. Many said Foreman no longer had it towards the end of his career, but he took some years out, and came back strong.

I don't believe a boxer can ever come back, from being shot, but was Morales?

It's easy to look at his loss against Pacquiao in the third fight and say he was, but be proved against DDDiaz that despite being old, he did have something left. I don't nessercarily believe he can have a good second career but I do think hell suprise some people. If he can get that fighting heart back, then I'm not willing to write such a great warrior off.

I think the biggest obvious problem is size. He will struggle against welterweights and really needs to be at 140lbs, tops. I'd prefer to see him back at lightweight, where he looked good.

But, it's Erik Morales. Anyone who is writing him off at this stage, is underestimaing the intangible attributes which made the man such a phenomenal fighter.

Seems like you're talking about Hamed, not Morales.

maybe, the beating pac brought to his subsequent opponents convinced morales that he's not yet shot?

It's a real shame. He's one of my favourite boxer and I don't want him to take any more beatings then he already has, especially not from guys who he would have whooped in his prime and are just hoping to get his name on their resume.
