i think he is like a 'james toney' coach, has the talent but not the dedication

He has a good style, just like his brother Roger. I think he pulls a Manny Steward move though by training fighters for big paydays instead of because they have skills he can maximize.

I think hatton was dumb to hire him in the first place looking back on it.....he said hatton was a worse version of gatti before the hatton-floyd fight......ricky should have known sr. would have not been dedicated to working with him...i.e. showing up late to sessions....

Id say good trainer but not great, i think people need to realize that it takes a long time to develop a fighter into what you want him to be, look how long Roach has been with Manny.

Mayweather snr spent years honing the skills of his son, it did not happen overnight.
