Clottey was a good fighter. He's like a Judah though, could never cut it when each time he went for the world level

Again, Pacquiao had the better of it in rounds 5 and the first half of round 6, but its not like Marquez was'nt landing his. Some of you people need to rewatch those rounds, there was two way action in them, even in the big 5th Pacquiao had. When Pacquiao hurt Marquez in that fifth, within seconds, Marquez landed a thunderous right hand that stopped Pacquiao in his tracks and made him buckle.
Even while hurt Marquez was getting his.

And again, I and some in press row did have Marquez up a point through 5.
Most who had Paquiao up had him up only by a point, so its not like Pacquiao was dominating every round and all of a sudden he just gets caught. He was getting hammered with that right hand every round as well as getting hit hard to the body.
Pacquiao was'nt liking those body shots Marquez was nailing him with, which is mostly to blame for his getting knockdown hard in round 3.

He simply lost to great fighters he hasnt lost to a bum yet for anyone to say he's finished. He's not past his prime like Jmm at 39 is or shot like Morales is just because Pacman lost doesnt mean hes done.

His opponents know how to deal with Pacquiao's style.

He's fighting better more technical fighters not guys who are there to be hit and who are limited. If Pac fights Rios next he will look like the old Pac.

Even in his wins over the last couple of years it's obvious he's been declining. He probably peaked about 09.

Only Marquez and Morales can claim (well, since Manny started his US career) they knew how to deal with Manny. **** Bradley.

Bradley did much better than your Cotto's, Margo's, and Hatton's and what not, but still got whooped clearly...Even by a strong for only 30 seconds a round Pacquiao.

So you sir are correct. :good

    Bottom line is this..
Manny was just never simply that great. And as far as JMM. He wouldnt even be able to handle Broner at this point. We already know hes nowhere near Floyds level so both guys are enjoying un-deserved hype as if theyre juggernauts even though theyre just the better versions of Ward and Gatti. Same goes for Morales and Barrera. Take away the great wars and you'll see their careers diminished. Guys are getting too much credit just for being entertaining. But just like Floyd did to Gatti by exposing guys as C plus fighters who dont deserve the credit as being true elites. JMM and Manny get done up out of their element. JMM is really just a glorified brawler and Manny is just a hyped up entity. Nothing more or less.

his early defeats aren''t applicable today as far as i'm concerned. completely developed and different fighter.

the morales fight was a brawl that pacquiao simply did not have the boxing nuances to win.

    bradley fight was a robbery

marquez simply has his number, even though the fights are competitive. I believe that, even if marquez hadnt scored the highlight reel ko, he would've arguably won the fight, like the three fights beforehand.

Pac's defeats make him seem human.

    - Which makes his wins that much more impressive.

Also, he always seems gracious in defeat; a genuinely nice guy. Dumb as a post, but nice.
