He has a hell of a jab. More like a jolt than a jab. Every single one of Pacquaio's punches is thrown with vicious intent.

 

His sloppy jab is what got his ass knocked out in the JMM fight. I was talking to my buddy about it seconds before he got ko'd, that **** just hangs out there, and he commits so much to it that its shocking he wasnt flood by a counter right earlier in his career let alone that fight.

 

He was using it as a feint.

That's different. I suppose you could argue about how one should feint, but that's an entirely different conversation.

On the other hand, regarding what you say, if you don't commit to a jab, and you arm punch it, you still have the same risk of being countered, but if you land it on your opponent, it does considerably less damage.

 

im not sure what to think of his jab... i mean he uses it effectively to set the straight left up so i cant deny it works well.. but i dont think its as versitile as most A+ jabs. for the very offensive minded person that pac is its perfect for him

 

he has been using that double feinted jab followed by a left hand for years!!!. still gotta give him credit that it took a master boxer like marquez 4 fights to land the perfect counter to it... (not that he had not outboxed pacquiao many times before)
