It wasn't pure glass, but even Mickey Duff, his promoter, said his chin was the perpetual problem, right after the Lennox Lewis fight.

I went with average.... Dude took a lot of shots from some hard punching men and still fought back, before most of his fights were stopped.

Yeah decent at best. He used to just slump down. Apart from the Smith fight, that was a pretty mad ending. This was stopped a bit late, he wasnt defending himself at all....

I think that video above proves Frank did not have a weak chin. Not massively strong by HW standards but certainly stronger than the thread starter i'd imagine.

not a dependable chin but he did take enough punches until this chin usually failed him.

Yeah, it just goes to show how standards of stoppages have changed since 1984. At the time that didn't seem particularly late, and the UK was already known for being quite safety-conscious. Bruno was really out of it the last few punches, just swaying around. Luckily Smith wasn't an accurate finisher.

    Definitely Frank's chin was weak.

I think his chin was okay, not great, not something you'd call dependable, but it was decent.
His KO/stoppage losses all occured at the highest level and against big punchers. There's no shame in that.

He just had that 'deer in headlights' syndrome.

Yes, McCall aside whenever he fought anyone decent he was stopped, so his chin was certainly unreliable.
