Is that the order you place them in?

    Frazier 1
    Norton
    Moorer
    Lyle
    Frazier 2
    Chuvalo
    Cooney
    Perelta
    Cooper
    Qawi

Foreman has an interesting resume. His wins over Frazier (first fight only), Norton, Moorer and Lyle are excellent. After that, his resume is weak.

Frazier was shot as hell by their second fight. Cooney was past it. Qawi was a natural light heavy and past it.

Foreman has a top heavy resume. Really good at the top and really weak below. He was unlucky not to get a win over Shannon Briggs; otherwise it would be his fifth biggest win.

In the 70's, Foreman missed: Joe Bugner, Jerry Quarry, Oscar Bonavena, Earnie Shavers.

In the late 80's and early 90's, he missed: Tim Witherspoon, Ray Mercer, Razor Ruddock, Tony Tucker, Oliver McCall, Frank Bruno.

If he had just a few wins over the guys above, his resume would be so much better.

He also got very close decisions vs Stewart, Savarese.

The Savarese fight isn't talked about alot but I only had Foreman just about winning that fight by 1 point. So Foreman had 3 debatable decisions go his way Stewart, Schultz, Savarese, and I don't think the Schultz fight was debatable for me that was a robbery.

Same here. I had it 114-113, with 1 point deducted from Savarese in the 11th.

I agree with your top 5 but i think Peralta should be in the top 10, I think you have Cooney too high he hadn't won a fight in almost 4 years and was completely shot by this point. I also wouldn't have Wepner in the top 10 but that's just my opinion.

    1. Joe Frazier 1
    2. Ken Norton
    3. Michael Moorer
    4. Ron Lyle
    5. Joe Frazier 2
    6. George Chuvalo
    7. Gregorio Peralta 2
    8. Gerry Cooney
    9. Bert Cooper
    10. Alex Stewart

I rank Norton above Moorer because i think he's a better Heavyweight more proven against great Heavyweights even though Moorer was lineal champion.

Chuvalo was coming off a win over Jerry Quarry and was on a win streak underrated win.

Peralta was ranked the 1st time Foreman beat him but i'm more impressed with the 2nd fight because that's a very rare late stoppage for a young Foreman over a notable opponent.

I have Stewart above Savarese because despite Savarese having the undefeated record Stewart had 100 percent KO ratio and he'd had notable performances against good Heavyweights. He'd badly hurt Holyfield in their 1st fight and gave him a good a battle, he also badly hurt Moorer and also gave him a good go in their fight also.

I didn't mention Dwight Muhammad Qawi because he had no business fighting at Heavyweight being only 5'6 he was completely out of shape and just wasn't a Heavyweight.

I rank the Bert Cooper win in the top 10 based on his very notable performances vs Moorer, Mercer, Holyfield, plus it was an early stoppage for Foreman one of his better wins in his 2nd career.

I also didn't include the Schultz win like you because i don't consider it a win for Foreman it was a robbery IMO.

I agree with this. Also The Briggs fight was a damn robbery IMO.

I am considering the opponents name & state, as well as the age & state of Foreman, & to a lesser extent the manner of victory, to come up with (not in order except the first two)…

    Frazier I
    Moorer
    Norton
    Lyle
    Stewart
    Peralta I
    Peralta II
    Chuvalo
    Cooper
    Savarese

At the tail end, Savarese could reasonably be subbed for any of Frazier II, Wepner, or Cooney. I don’t think the Chuvalo & especially each of the Peralta fights (for different reasons) are likely to get their due. Under-rated wins. Norton & Lyle are hard to separate by quality of win, too.

Closest to my list and the only one to include both Peralta fights.
