i like what he showed tonight, i think it was boring because Postol didnt do anything to win but who do you think would make a competitive fight against him at 147 or 140 ?.I would love to see him fighting D.Garcia ,Thurman, Porter or Spence.Do you think those fights can happen? For the good of the sport they should but boxing is a business right?
probably not, garcia has become a bit of a joke, but i would love to watch bud rid us of garcia allready, and his name would still look good on his resume as his first fight at welter.
I'd like to see Crawford in against Matthysse and his power. Lucas needs a comeback prep fight first of course. Otherwise, 140's really thin on elite talent and name fighters so no reason not to move to welter. No reason he shouldn't be salivating at the chance to fight Pacquiao in November. He may never have a chance to be a marketable star if he doesn't fight and beat Pacquiao. And I love a good passing of the torch fight, which we rarely get these years with established fighters avoiding high risk younger guys. I love Mikey Garcia, but I'd rather he fight Lomachenko at 135 than quickly move to 140 to fight Crawford.
Porter would fight him. Porter appears to be the gatekeeper to elite status. He is a good fighter who is not scared of taking a loss and will never be an a-side on a major fight so he might as well try to make 1-2 million a fight as a strong b-side.
Thurman or spense will fight him when the market demands it. Right now those fights would be premature and too high risk for all the fighters.
This fight would have killed on CBS or NBC. Arum needs to work with Haymon. We Spence is so unknown even when he fights on NBC the ratings are not so good. Thurman just did 3 million views.
I think he fought plenty of guys with hand speed in his day - I just think that day is drawing to an end and he is smart enough to know it. No shame in that. I hate the guy (because he is a self righteous megalomaniac and serial woman beater) so I always cheer against him but like all boxers - he owes nothing to anybody. If he wants to fight a slow fighter so be it.
Judging from all the blood lust boxing fans round these parts - maybe it's better nobody saw the fight Seriously - he just made a life altering amount of money. But it was probably dumb in the long run. The extra exposure would have probably more than made up the difference in future fight earnings.
I think he goes after the WBA and IBF straps next. It only makes a lot of sense and a lot of dollars!
Never mind the remaining champs at 140, do you not think Barthelemy would give Crawford problems? I think he does.
