    Muay Thai, Karate, TKD...

I think Muay Thai is the best for the standard and most effective kicks. I also think that Karate and TKD are the best for dynamic kicks which athletic guys like Silva, GSP and Le can pull off consistently.

Muay Thai. Do any other martial arts use low kicks as much as Muay Thai?

I'd have to say Muay Thai or maybe Kykushin karate.

Muay Tai for sure. Karate and TKD are very effective in getting your ass kicked.

Yep, Muay Thai. Even down to the conditioning of their legs, which is sometimes inhuman.

I don't necessarily think Thai boxers fight smart (a by product of their culture seems to be a pride in taking punishment) and that they'd benefit from a Western boxer's mindset, but for sheer power and toughness, they're top.

Reminds me that the word they use in Thailand for an uppercut is "uppercut."

As a blackbelt in TKD, I can say without a doubt that it's Muay Thai. The conditioning process is ****in' brutal...but effective. Also, their kicks are effective. All the really fancy flashy kicks in TKD or most forms of Karate are really kind of worthless...

Doesn't Hapkido only use kicks to the lower body?

Yea, the boxing of very early Thai and Burmese fighters was pretty poor.

The scoring system for all these kicking martial arts doesn't help their hands.

Kung Fu has bad ass kicks but tae kwon do is 90% kicking 10 % punching. I used to take tae kwon do and most of the time all we did was kick.

This is complete bs. There are plenty of Thai fighters who are technicians rather than brawlers and who fight very intelligently. Go youtube Samart Payakaroon for example.
