Thanks for demonstrating what annoys me about both Mayweather and his fans.

That reasoning you just gave comes straight out of the PBF playbook:

1) Don't take a risk against a dangerous opponent, even if it's what fans want.

2) Go for the safer fight for the same money.

I can understand why Floyd would make such selfish decisions, but why do his fans follow in lock-step? Amazing.

 

Cotto outboxed Margo for first 5 rounds....but Margo mentioned, it was the 6th that he decided to up the ante, and really push the pressure on cotto.... Cotto couldn't move up the gears with him and he paid the price. You have to remeber, a small guy with very short reach (Hatton) troubled Flloyd for at least 4 of the ear;y rounds in their fight.... Just imagine what Margo will do once he takes everything flloyd throws at him... Cotto threw his best shots early on and Margo smiled and came back for more. It will be close, but I think again, Margos workrate and constant pressure and punch output would win him the fight.

 

Because they don't wanna see their boy get knocked out by a Mexican. Like his uncle got knocked out by Chavez.

OK, Hatton gave PBF a few problems in a few early rounds... So given that was the case with short small hatton just imagine how the bigger and badder Margarito will chase PBF down.

I remember PBF saying after the Hatton fight, it was one of his most difficult fights - whether that's the truth or not - I don't know.

Also, Hatton tried using educated pressure, Margarito will come forward constantly and hurting Floyd even if he blocks the punches. I can see PBF countering but he will get hurt.
